Reflection 4

In comparing and contrast, we should compare two subjects. Like two countries. In the first paragraph we have the introduction that will give a clue about the subjects that we will talk about. Then the second paragraph will talk about the similarities between the two subjects. After that the third paragraph will show the differences between the two subjects and the last paragraph will show the conclusion and I have to show my opinions in both subjects and show if I prefer one of them.

How to make olive oil

Olive oil is an important material in our food. It’s rich with vitamins and proteins. Today I will talk about how olive oil is made.

First of all, the olives are harvested by hand or with sticks. They are collected in nets beneath the trees. Then the leaves and stones are removed and the olives are washed before crushing to remove any remaining impurities .Then the olives are crushed by granite stones within 24-36 hours of picking. The olive paste is layered on mats and it’s put under pressure from a screw or hydraulic press. At last the liquid is collected and put through a centrifugal separator to separate water and impurities from oil. Finally the oil is canned or bottled and distributed in the market.

As we see the production of olive oil is a big process and it’s not easy. To make a good quality oil you shouldn’t keep the olives after harvesting for a long time, otherwise you will have a poor quality of olive oil.

Reflection 2

Narrative writing contains 4 main paragraphs:

The introduction: the past continuous is used in it e.g: I was drinking water when Zayed cried.

Paragraph 2: we should describe what we saw e.g: suddenly the driver hit the man and ran away.

Paragraph 3: we should describe what happened.

The conclusion: we describe our feeling.

Reflection 3

Present passive is used in process essays with past participle and it has the same structure of the procedure as introduction , main paragraph and conclusion . And it contains about 150 words with linking words the same as procedure ( first , second , next , after that and finally).

UAE & Brunei

There are many places tourists love to spend vacation in like the UK, Malaysia, Brunei, the UAE, and the USA. Today I will talk and compare about the UAE and Brunei. Both countries have similarities and differences. And I will try to focus on these two issues.

The most important similarity is Islam. Both countries are Muslim and they learn and study it in schools. Oil is another important thing ; both countries have big reservoirs of oil and they depend on it for their income. Also the two countries have hereditary monarchies , so there is no election system to choose the next president.

There are many differences. The climate in the UAE is very hot in the summer and cooler in the winter. In Brunei the climate is the same all the year. The driving system in the UAE uses the left side for the driver, but in Brunei they use the right side and the road is opposite. Also the currency in the UAE is the dirham, but in Brunei the currency is the ringget. The UAE is located in the Middle East region, but Brunei is located in East Asia.

I haven't been before to Brunei but it is as modern a country as the UAE and I hope I could visit it in the future.
